Background
While studying in college in the late 90’s and talking to fellow classmates it came to my attention that most students do not want to live in small, cramped and often dirty dorms. Rather students prefer to live in off campus housing. Unfortunately, there was not one main source to find rentals and real estate in college campuses online or in print!

Searching for a Rental
Finding rental units is somewhat hard knowing what is available in the area. Flipping though papers is boring and you could not see what you are calling about. Many times by the time you swing by the place you want to see, it has already been rented. Student Home Search.com was designed to allow students find listings that are close to campus. The website allows students to look at pictures, review lease rates and if a vacancy exists, the student can contact the property manager immediately via telephone, email or the built in message board. We spent thousands of hours to design our site with the Student in mind while allowing Property Owners/ Managers and Realtors to keep track of there listings and have them searchable by students. Students can look at information anytime, day or night, and if they want, they can submit for more information, setup an appointment or coming soon, even send an application for rent via the Student Home Search.com website.
Real Estate goes up in value
While renting is typically normal for the student, sometimes parents or even students take advantage of tax breaks and the fact that Real Estate is an appreciating asset. Parents and students can subsidize some of the high cost of college tuition by purchasing a home for the time they are away at school. When the student graduates, a decision will need to be made.
